Long Beach LBCAP CARES Child Essentials Giveaway Offers Free Diapers and Baby Supplies for Families

Long Beach Community Action Partnership launches new CARES initiative to support families with essential child supplies

For many Long Beach families, the cost of diapers and basic child essentials can quietly add up week after week. A single box of diapers can stretch household budgets, especially for families already navigating rising living expenses. Now, a new community initiative is stepping in to help ease that burden.

The Long Beach Community Action Partnership has announced its LBCAP CARES Child Essentials Giveaway, a program designed to provide free diapers, training pants, and baby wipes to eligible Long Beach families. The initiative reflects the organization’s broader mission to help residents meet immediate needs while building long term stability.

LBCAP CARES Program Focuses on Immediate Support for Long Beach Families

The LBCAP CARES initiative is built around a simple idea. Families should have access to essential supplies for their children without facing additional financial strain. Through this program, approved applicants will receive supplies designed to help cover short term needs and provide relief during challenging times.

According to Long Beach Community Action Partnership Executive Director Marisa Semense, the program was created to respond directly to the needs of local families. She noted that items like diapers often become an overlooked but significant expense, and providing support in this area can make a meaningful difference for households.

Through the Child Essentials Giveaway, families with eligible children can receive diaper packages or training pants along with baby wipes. The goal is to provide practical assistance that supports everyday family life while reinforcing community support across Long Beach.

What Families Will Receive Through the Giveaway

Approved applicants will receive one supply package per eligible child. Diaper packages include 80 diapers along with two packs of baby wipes. Available diaper sizes range from size one through size six, allowing families to request what best fits their child’s needs.

For families transitioning children into training pants, the program also offers training pant packages. These include 40 training pants and one pack of baby wipes. Sizes available include 2T 3T, 3T 4T, and 4T 5T.

The supplies are distributed while quantities last, and applications are reviewed on a first apply first considered basis. Families are encouraged to apply early to increase their chances of receiving assistance.

Eligibility Requirements for Long Beach Residents

To qualify for the LBCAP CARES Child Essentials Giveaway, applicants must meet several requirements. Families must live in Long Beach and provide proof of residency. Additionally, households must have at least one child under the age of five.

Applicants must also show proof of current participation in WIC or CalFresh benefits. Once approved, families must be able to pick up supplies at the Long Beach Community Action Partnership office located on West Victoria Street.

The organization notes that one fulfillment is available per address listed on the application, and identification must match the application address to receive supplies.

A Long Beach Organization With a Long History of Community Support

Founded in 1979, the Long Beach Community Action Partnership has served residents through a range of programs focused on education, economic stability, and youth development. The organization is part of a national network of community action agencies created to address poverty and strengthen local communities.

The LBCAP CARES initiative continues that mission by addressing immediate needs while helping families move toward long term stability. Programs like this often provide small but meaningful relief that helps households focus on other priorities, including employment, education, and family well being.
