Long Beach Hidden Gems: Gallagher’s on Broadway Is the Irish Pub Locals Never Really Leave
Hidden Happy Hour in Plain Sight…With Lunch Specials and 25th Anniversary Deals, One Visit Won’t Be Your Last
25th Anniversary Special: On the 20th of every month, Gallagher’s rolls out special deals in honor of its 25th year in business. It’s a great time to swing by, snap a photo, and toast to two and a half decades of good food and better company.
In Bluff Heights at 2751 E. Broadway, Gallagher’s Pub & Grill blends classic Irish warmth with the everyday ease of a local hangout. Founded by Ciaran Gallagher, a third-generation restaurateur from Northern Ireland, the pub is steeped in family tradition. Ciaran started bartending as a teen in Derry, moved to California in his early twenties, and after stints in iconic local kitchens, brought his own brand of hospitality to Long Beach.
And for those still lucky enough to live nearby. Gallagher’s is one of the city’s best-kept secrets hiding in plain sight.
What began as a small pub concept in Huntington Beach blossomed into something deeply rooted at the Broadway location. Gallagher’s Long Beach opened as a standalone venture in 2005, becoming a go-to for everything from Sunday football and trivia nights to karaoke and all-you-can-eat fish & chips.
But beyond the events and the shepherd’s pie, there’s something less tangible that keeps people coming back—a sense of belonging. With friendly bartenders, a patio that welcomes pups, and enough Guinness to go around, Gallagher’s is the kind of place where everyone from regulars to returning locals, feels like part of the story.
Whether you're catching a game, singing karaoke, or just stopping in for a pint with an old friend, Gallagher’s isn’t just a bar—it’s a Long Beach memory in the making.

A Brunch Sanctuary Built by a Woman, For Everyone
The Wild Chive is the perfect spot for morning meetings, casual meetups, or a memorable first impression. From the moment you walk in, the high wooden ceiling makes the space feel open and inviting. The walls are decorated with canvas portraits—moments from the restaurant’s history honoring past team members and community events.
While you wait for your order, you can watch the kitchen in action through tall glass windows, giving the dining area a sense of connection and movement. My early morning visit was calm—just me, a nearby couple, and Jasmine, the kind, attentive waitress who made everyone feel welcome.
Today, I had the Berry French Toast, topped with black grapes and strawberries. The batter had a warm cinnamon flavor that made each bite linger—in the best way.
