Founded by Ciaran Gallagher, a third-generation restaurateur from Northern Ireland, the pub is steeped in family tradition. Ciaran started bartending as a teen in Derry, moved to California in his early twenties, and after stints in iconic local kitchens, brought his own brand of hospitality to Long Beach.

What began as a small pub concept in Huntington Beach blossomed into something deeply rooted at the Broadway location. Gallagher’s Long Beach opened as a standalone venture in 2005, becoming a go-to for everything from Sunday football and trivia nights to karaoke and all-you-can-eat fish & chips.

But beyond the events and the shepherd’s pie, there’s something less tangible that keeps people coming back—a sense of belonging.
