Haunted Legends Return to Life at Queen Mary's Dark Harbor

Enter Subtitle

Each fall, something stirs in the fog just beyond the Long Beach harbor. As the RMS Queen Mary looms over the shoreline, so too do the haunted legends that awaken within her steel hull. Once again, Queen Mary's Dark Harbor opens its creaking gates—inviting thrill-seekers, horror fans, and curious newcomers into a fully immersive Halloween experience unlike any other in Southern California.

Step Aboard One of the Most Haunted Ships in the World

The Queen Mary’s long-reported ghostly reputation provides the perfect foundation for this spine-chilling attraction. Dark Harbor doesn’t just lean into the ship’s haunted history—it resurrects it. Guests wind their way through detailed mazes that twist through the actual engine rooms, cabins, and decks of the ocean liner, all transformed into horrific passages of fear.

Live scare actors lurk in every shadow, bringing legendary characters like the Ringmaster, Half Hatch Henry, and Scary Mary back from the depths of maritime lore. As the ship creaks and groans under your feet, it’s easy to forget what’s real and what’s theater.

Mazes, Mayhem, and Maritime Horror Await

With multiple haunted mazes both on and around the ship, Dark Harbor offers a wide variety of horror environments—from claustrophobic corridors to fog-filled outdoor grounds. Each maze is designed with elaborate sets, practical effects, and atmospheric lighting that blurs the line between haunted attraction and interactive horror theater.

In addition to the mazes, guests can experience themed bars, street performers, fire shows, and aerialists. Food vendors line the event space with spooky treats and drinks, giving attendees a chance to catch their breath between scares. VIP experiences, fast fright passes, and private cabana rentals are also available for those looking to upgrade their night.

A National Destination for Halloween Thrills

Dark Harbor has earned national acclaim for its immersive storytelling, production value, and authentic setting aboard one of the most haunted locations in the U.S. Long Beach locals proudly claim it as one of the city's most anticipated seasonal events, but its reputation draws fans from across the country.

In an era where many haunted houses rely on overdone tropes, Dark Harbor succeeds by building on real legends and placing them in a truly historic venue. This blend of history and horror gives the event an edge that even the most jaded haunt fans can’t ignore.

Plan Your Visit—If You Dare

Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor typically runs weekend evenings throughout the fall, peaking in October. Tickets are required and available online, with options ranging from general admission to VIP skip-the-line access. Due to the popularity of the event, early booking is recommended.

Whether you're a horror enthusiast, Halloween fanatic, or just looking to challenge your fear threshold, this immersive experience offers a night you won’t forget—unless the ship decides to keep you.
