WomenShelter of Long Beach Brings the City Together for a Day of Wellness |
|
WomenShelter of Long Beach is known for its work with survivors of domestic violence. Crisis intervention. Emergency housing. Advocacy. Prevention. But the organization has always understood something deeper. Safety and wellness do not begin at the moment of crisis. They begin long before that through relationships, awareness, and community. Most people do not ignore resources because they do not care. They miss them because life gets busy. Work. Kids. Bills. Appointments. The days fill up quickly, leaving little time to search for support or learn what help may be available.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., MacArthur Park becomes a one stop neighborhood hub where families can explore services, meet local organizations, and discover support they may not have known existed. The event is free and open to everyone. At its heart is a simple message: you do not have to navigate life alone.
MacArthur Park Has Long Been a Neighborhood Crossroads
MacArthur Park has long been a neighborhood crossroads. Kids on scooters. Families passing through. Elders resting under the trees. On June 20, it becomes something more. A place where information, support, and community meet in the open air.
Tables will line the walkways.
Local organizations will be ready to talk, listen, and guide.
Families can stroll, explore, and take what they need, whether that is a resource, a conversation, or a new connection.
Something for Everyone at the WomenShelter Wellness and Resource Fair
Organizers say the fair will offer health resources, support services, educational opportunities, and family focused activities. The goal is simple: create a welcoming space where people can learn, ask questions, and leave with useful information.
It is not a gala.
It is not a fundraiser.
It is a community day. Simple. Human. Grounded.
Whether someone arrives with a specific need or simply wants to enjoy a Saturday in the park, they will leave knowing more about the organizations working every day to strengthen Long Beach.
